In Russia there are few factories capable of producing petrol in accordance with Euro-5 requirements. Recycling processes based on catalytic cracking are not yet used universally, and primary refining prevails over the secondary.
The increase in the octane number of gasoline with the help of aromatic additives has lost its usefulness after the introduction of the Euro-5 standard, which prohibits this method.
THE PROCESS OF CATALYTIC ISOMERIZATION ALLOWS OBTAINING QUALITATIVE COMMODITY PRODUCTS
The process of catalytic isomerization increases the octane number of light gasoline fractions, increases the proportion of isoparaffins, reduces the content of aromatic hydrocarbons and sulfur.
Straight-run gasoline fractions of oil and gas condensates, gasoline, light petroleum distillate and other fractions are raw materials for catalytic cracking units.
Until recently, this technology was used only at large state-owned oil refineries, required sophisticated hardware design and specific conditions.
